This, my friends, is a bloody good idea.
What idea you ask? Well, Halston is to launch Halston Heritage come spring 2010.
The Halston Heritage collection is a lower-priced line, which will draw from the brand’s archives reissuing iconic Halston pieces. Its first offering will include tie-dye and sequined dresses, chiffon gowns with shoes and bags to boot!

And, the price points are good. Pieces will retail from US$55 (£33) for a T-shirt to US$595 (£364) for dresses. I use this term 'good' loosely seeing as for £364, one could put a child through first-class schooling in many of the world's developing countries but that's a whole 'nother story.
SO, when I think about it this Halston Heritage collection is a win-win situation.
The second-line takes over where the mainline left off allowing it to go in a whole new direction, which is great. I love classic Halston with its clean lines, sporty silhouette and fluid draping, but you'd have to be blind not see that its engine was running out of steam.
We, get high-end designs at a 'reasonable' price.
Marios gets a little room to breathe unlike poor ol' Marco Zanini and true Halstonites, get enough reproductions of every classic piece to fill their wardrobes to their hearts content.
Lastly, the fashion industry won't be lumbered with the same-ol' same-ol' hark-back-to-the-past relics, Halston was in danger of supplying every fashion week!
Every one's a winner! Hi-fives all round.
I'd love to see some of these classic Halston pieces reworked:
